Biography
Kathleen Hope Brown is the director of lay ministry formation. She holds a doctor of ministry from the Catholic University of America and a master of arts in pastoral studies with an emphasis in Word and Worship from Washington Theological Union. She also holds a master’s in economics and completed coursework for a doctorate in the field of economics from Georgetown University. Dr. Brown’s experience extends from chaplaincy at George Washington University to pastoral associate work for St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Arlington, VA. She served as the regional director of the DeSales Spirituality Center in Washington, DC and remains affiliated with the Center. Dr. Brown is married with two sons.
Professional Activities
Dr. Brown gives frequent talks, lectures and workshops on Salesian Spirituality. She also has written numerous articles on the topics of spirituality, lay ministry and liturgy. She is a member of the Catholic Theological Society of America, the North American Academy of Liturgy, and the Salesian Scholars Seminar. She is vice president and president-elect of teh Association of Graduate Programs in Ministry.
