Biography
John Burkhard joined the Washington Theological Union in 1991. He taught at St. Anthony-on-Hudson Seminary from 1971 - 1988, and was both academic dean and then president. He has also taught at St. Peter's Regional Seminary, Cape Coast, Ghana and The Catholic University of America. Dr. Burkhard teaches regularly during the summers at St. John's University, Collegeville, Minnesota. Since 1992, he has been a teacher for the Education for Parish Service Program of the Archdiocese of Washington.
Professional Activities
Dr. Burkhard is currently writing a book on the Church as the Body of Christ. He is a member of The Catholic Theological Society of America, the North American Patristic Society and The American Academy of Religion.
